To Obtain a Building Permit, the Following Must be Submitted:
- Building Application A (for all properties outside the historic district)
- Building Application B (for all properties inside the historic district)
- Two sets of construction plans
- Site plan
- Drawings/Picture(s)/Brochure of proposed structure.
- Permit Fee. A Permit is not active until all fees have been paid. (If a project begins before a permit has been issued and all fees have been paid, a stop work order will be issued with a $1000 fine)
- Street Impediment/Dumpster Permit Application, if a dumpster is required for the project or construction equipment will be blocking any street area.
- If you are not the owner of the property, have the owner sign the authorization page.
- If the property is in an HOA, HOA approval is required.

Historic District Commission (HDC)
The HDC meetings are held in Town Hall at 6:00 pm on the first Wednesday of every month.
To get on the agenda, applications and all supporting documents must be submitted to the Town office no later than 4:00 pm the deadline date. Deadlines for specific types of projects are:
- applications with complete supporting materials for new construction or demolition permits must be received no later than twenty-five (25) days prior to the regularly scheduled meeting.
- all other applications and supporting materials must be received no later than one (1) week before the scheduled meeting.
