EVENT PERMITS
Events on Town property require a Town Event Permit.
The following are required to obtain an event permit:
- Permit/application fee (See new permitting fees below)
- Certificate of Insurance with the Town being the Certificate holder
- Dates for the event will not be held until all the above are turned in
- If you are selling alcohol, you will need to get a liquor license through Kent County
OPEN CONTAINER WAIVER
§ 45-1 CONSUMPTION OR POSSESSION PROHIBITED IN CERTAIN PUBLIC PLACES.
It shall be unlawful for any person to consume or possess in any open container any alcoholic beverage while: (A) On public property, unless authorized by a governmental entity that has jurisdiction over the property; (B) On any mall, adjacent parking area, or other outside area of any combination of privately owned retail establishments, i.e., a shopping center, where the general public is invited for business purposes; (C) On an adjacent parking area or some other outside area of any other retail establishment; or (D) In any parked vehicle located on any of the places enumerated in this section.
§ 45-4 EXCEPTIONS.
The Mayor and Council members of the town reserve the right, at their discretion and in the best interests of the citizens of the town, to grant on special occasions and other events an exception to the provisions of this article. Open Container Waiver Application

(CPD & Zoning Administrator to approve dumpster location)

Each additional page $2.00
As of Fall 2024, the Lelia Hynson pavilion in Wilmer Parks is closed. Washington College, owner, has deemed it unsafe for use.
