SCAM ALERT
Town Hall received a call from a concerned resident after receiving a permit invoice and wire transfer instruction.
The subject line of the email was "Notice of Outstanding Application Approval & Review Fees - Action Required".
The email address was from planning.chestertown_gov [at] usa.com (planning[dot]chestertown_gov[at]usa[dot]com).
The emails claim to be from the “Bradley Moore, Zoning Administrator”, demanding that payment be made prior to tonight's Historic District Commission meeting (12.03.2025).
REMEMBER: The Town of Chestertown would never ask you to wire your payments.
WHAT YOU CAN DO: If you received a questionable invoice, DO NOT pay or engage with the potential scammers. Contact Town Hall at 410-778-0500 and verify the invoice.
